We believe that weight loss surgery is a behavior modification program. Studies have shown that the most successful weight loss surgery patients are those that have a behavior component in their care plan. Participating in support group is also key to success.
You will see the Bariatric Surgeon and/or Physician Assistant routinely at one week, one month, three months, 6 months, nine months, one year, and annually thereafter. You will also be scheduled to see the dietician at the same office visit. Lab work will be done to assess your general health and nutritional status.
You may have follow up counseling with our psychologist or other counselor if indicated.
We may have you follow up with our Physical Therapist or direct you to a physical trainer as needed to get you active. Physical activity is important to maintaining weight loss.
